The earth is warming up due to pollution from carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. Most scientists agree that climate change is largely due to human activity, mainly associated with the increased use of fossil fuels.
Business Builder was working in partnership with Leicester City Council on Climate Change – What’s Your Plan? This project aimed to reduce climate change by encouraging businesses in Leicester city to plan how they will reduce the amount of carbon dioxide they produce and so reduce their impact on climate change. It doesn't matter how big or small the change is – all we ask is that you make one change and develop an action plan to do even more in the future.
The project helped to facilitate a greater understanding of climate change, its impact and the difference that local action can make. There was also be a focus on resource efficiency which will help to reduce energy and water consumption and manage waste more effectively. This in turn can lead to increased profits as well as reducing environmental impact.
The project was delivered by a combination of events to raise awareness and visits to businesses to engage them in the project and take action to make a difference.
This project is no longer delivered by Business Builder. We would like to thank all those who participated and benefitted from the Surveys and Action Plans.
